How to work with

Pitched Roofs

Parts of the pitched roof

Roof constructions can be made as tie- collar, or beam trusses or purlins. For housing, wood trusses or purlins are frequently used. In the following page you will find information for roof constructions in wood, where the isolation material is applied between the rafters. Some types of roof structures may also be isolated on the outside. Applying roof insulation is particularly important for new roofs.

Choosing the right cladding

The roof cladding is meant to protect the building from rain, snow and melt alone or in part by means of an underroof. The roof cladding may consist of, e.g. tile or concrete roofing tiles, corrugated sheets or flat sheets of fiber cement, steel or wooden base with roofing coverage.
